COURSE UPDATE

BUNKERS: With no more preferred lie Please make sure you are raking the bunkers once you have been in them. Please leave the bunker the way your would expect it to be left for you.

GENERAL COURSE CARE: If you see Divots in the fairway and rough during your round, Please take the extra 20 Secs and fill them in with some sand. This will help the grass grow quicker in and around that divot and allow the course to repair itself quicker and easier.

GREEN RENOVATIONS: Thank you to everyone’s understanding about the delayed Reno’s. This was due to a machinery breakdown with the contractors. Renovations have been completed and have been very successful. No one likes to paly on greens that have had renovations but it is necessary to keep the greens at the levels we want as a club and to assist the greens staff please repair any pitch marks correctlyas this will help the grass grow back quicker. Please keep in mind that the greens will get worse before they better but the more we can look after them the quicker they will be back to their best.

THE 13TH BRIDGE: The 13th Bridge is still in the process of being repaired. The hand rails are being replaced along with some other items that need repairing. Please adhere to the directions from Golf Club Staff and construction staff to limit any inconveniences to players.

14th, 1st & 8th TEE BLOCKS: The new 14th Tee block is not far away from being put back into action. It needs a good top dress to make it level & with the rain that we have had, it has helped the tee block come back quicker then normal. The next tee block to be done will be the 1st. We will be making this tee block one level and making it slightly bigger which will give us the most useable tee space available. There will be some changes to tee blocks while this work happens. Please adhere to the directions and stay out of the works area to allow the area to grow back as quickly as possible.

PRO TIP – ‘Pull the trigger’

If you have a DO have a preshot routine – this message is for you. Golf and sport phycologists have found that the longer you stay still, or the longer you spend looking at the golf ball at address – the results of a good shot drastically deteriorate. Once you have finished your routine and about to hit/putt the ball – don’t take any time. The faster you can pull the trigger, the better the chance of a good shot. The problem is that the longer your over the ball standing still or not moving, the brain begins overthinking, second guessing, muscle tension increases and the body’s ability to execute begins to decrease. It may feel funny at first but in essence, the faster you can pull the trigger, the less likely things start breaking down. Pull the trigger!

If you don’t have a consistent preshot routine, you definitely should start thinking about what it is, how it helps and where to start, especially if your someone who has a great front 9 and a bad back 9 or vice versa. A preshot routine will help. (note: a preshot routine doesn’t mean your game slows down). Studies from sports psychologists in golf have discovered those who have a consistent pre-shot routine have a 50% chance of shooting better scores.
